General tour description

No two northern lights tours are alike due to weather, activity, snow, luminosity of the moon etc., but the following is a general outline of how we normally operate our Norther lights tour:

Each day, we meticulously monitor the evening's weather forecast. Favorable conditions necessitate factors such as light to moderate aurora activity and a clear nights sky. Once we determine that conditions are favorable, we promptly update our customers to confirm the tour.

Our journey begins as we venture into darkness to commence our Northern Lights hunt. While we begin with a well-thought-out plan and specific locations in mind, it's crucial to remain adaptable, as conditions are ever-changing.

Once we escape the clutches of light pollution and find ourselves beneath the vast expanse of open skies, we scan for signs of auroral activity. If the Northern Lights grace us with their presence, we seize the opportunity to capture photographs and perhaps even attempt some striking portraits with the lights as a backdrop.

At some point during the tour, we take a little break to savor some delectable hot chocolates and home-made sweet pastries, adding a cozy and comforting touch to our enchanting Northern Lights adventure.

A highly recommended added option is a visit to the Aurora Reykjavik - Northern lights Center before the tour. Here, you'd receive an informative introduction to the physics underlying the Northern Lights phenomenon and gain valuable insights into the art of photographing this celestial spectacle.

However, even with our exceptional guides and comprehensive forecasting, it's essential to understand that Northern Lights sightings are never guaranteed.

Side note:

Please keep in mind that only the open group version of this tour permits free re-bookings. Free re-booking is not available for this tour in any other form.
