General tour description

This is a fully customizable tour so no two tours are alike, but the following is a general outline of how we normally operate our golden circle tour:

The tour commences with a visit and exploration of the captivating Þingvellir National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll have the opportunity to stroll along a pathway within the rift valley situated between the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia.

Following this, our journey takes us Iceland’s Largest farming community often referred to as the southern low-lands. We will visit the beautiful dairy farm Efstidalur, where it possible to try some of their products. A true farm to table experience.

Next we head to the Haukadalur geothermal region, where you can witness the awe-inspiring Geysir, renowned as the original "geyser," alongside its more active counterpart, Strokkur, which erupts with steaming water every few minutes.

Concluding the Golden Circle trifecta is the visit to the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland’s second most powerful waterfall.

After the visit at the waterfall we will head to Friðheimar tomato farm, where we will learn how we are able to grow produce all year long utilizing the geothermal hot water and readily available renewable electricity.

On the drive back to town we visit the ancient collapsed volcanic crater Kerið. A very interesting geological feature that speaks to the volcanic nature of the island.

Side note:

Somewhere along the way we will stop for lunch or refreshments. There are numerous options to chose from. Most popular are either the restaurant at Efstidalur dairy farm, or The restaurant in the greenhouse at Friðheimar, however they require a reservation so let us know if you want us to attempt to book a table for your group.
